Music, Meet Spoken Word - Joe Oppenheimer

Music, Meet Spoken Word

UPDATE: Pozzible Campaign Success!!! We’ll be making an album for release in 2017 – it’s really happening!

Get excited! Why? Because of an upcoming collaboration between local legend Fleassy Malay and the music-makers at 2Hz Audio (that would be Fahad Abdulaal & myself) – an experimental project uniting Spoken Word and Music with delicate good taste. Bringing the slickest of modern vibes with some rustically raw instrumental recordings, we’re supporting Fleassy’s incredible word talents with music designed to evoke and capture the deep emotional quandaries of her work.

I’ve been a fan of Fleassy’s poetry for a long time, seeing her perform over the years at Rainbow Serpent, Synergy events, and of course her very own Mother Tongue event for women’s spoken work. She’s always blown me away with her magnetic performances and insightful poetry, her confidence and ability to express with great vulnerability some of the rawest moment of human experience.

Fleassy is running a crowd-funding campaign to help accomplish the task set before her. Do your bit by checking out the pozible campaign and securing your copy of the album now!
